Our Philosophy

In the epic poem Divine Comedy, Dante opens with:

‘At the midpoint of the journey of life, I find myself in a dark forest, for the clear path was lost.’

To emerge from this forest, Dante required the help of Virgil and Beatrice to guide him through Hell, Purgatory and eventually into Paradise.

Today, teachers are struggling to properly guide students through the complex forest that is schooling. As a result, some students are lost trying to study the curriculum. They lack the intellectual inspiration and resources required to master the HSC and/or University.

Students need a Virgil. They need a Beatrice. They need Boldtutor. Let us help you master your studies by offering guidance from tutors who have already conquered the rigours of schooling and university study.

In addition, all our clients have the right to request feedback or raise any concerns they may have with a topic or text after hours at no extra cost.

Furthermore, the Bold Insight blog and other exclusive resources are available for students who wish to improve their knowledge and master subjects like HSC English.

Our Influence

Having tutored over 300 students since our founding in June 2016, Boldtutor provides a tutoring service that addresses student concerns surrounding the lack of in-depth guidance they receive at secondary school, primary school and/or University.

Heavily influenced by the pedagogical theories of John Locke, Jean Jacques – Rousseau and Paulo Freire, Boldtutor assists students by discussing how learning certain texts, ideas or events can work in students’ best interests academically, socially and professionally. When students begin to grasp the importance and relevance of what they are studying, they invariably go on to develop a willingness to gain more knowledge that leads to better intellectual performance.

If students can become interested in what they are learning about, then it will go a long way to helping them develop the knowledge and skills required to succeed in any endeavour, let alone academic study.

Boldtutor founder:
  • Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Media and Cultural Studies at Southern Cross University. Graduated in 2012 with a GPA of 5.50.
  • Have privately tutored over 250 students ranging from primary school to university clients studying at Sydney University, Macquarie University and University of Western Sydney.

Max Weber, Niccolo Machiavelli, John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Paulo Freire, Antonio Gramsci, Adam Smith, Michel Foucault, Pierre Bourdieu, Jean Jacques-Rousseau, Sun Tzu, Ayn Rand, Dante Alighieri, Aristotle and Karl Marx.
